Ezines can be a very effective form of advertising but there are a few things to take into consideration before you place an order for your ad. First of all some of you maybe asking what is an ezine? Well it's simply an electronic magazine or newsletter of some kind, where a list of subscribers are marketed to over a period of time from an individual or a group. You can purchase ad space and reach thousands of potential clients and leads all at one time.

One thing to learn when advertising with ezines is that you should only use "Top Sponsor" or "Solo" Ads. Just in case you don't know let me tell you what these are. A "Top Sponsor" advertisement is a mini 5-10 line ad that is placed at the top of the issue and is usually the first thing that a reader sees. A "Solo" advertisement is a solo ad the name says it all, it is the only thing that is included in that particular issue. If you decide to use ezine marketing and/or advertising I would suggest that you use "Solo" ads as they tend to bring the best results.

The solo ads should be relatively short about one page or so. This is one of those situations when longer isn't always better. And remember to break up your paragraphs, this makes it easier for your readers to skim through it. Also make sure that you include your URL in the ad at least a couple of times and end with your name and link.

A word of caution if something seems to good to be true then approach with extreme caution. You can't get something for nothing advertising with ezines, but that doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune either. But I would be very weary of ezines that guarantee results or promise you the world for little to nothing.

I suggest testing and tracking your ads to find out what works best, that's just common since. Don't get taken in by promises that cannot be kept, but a general rule of thumb is you can't skip out on quality. Yes you can find and place an ad for $5 to a two to three thousand member subscriber list, however it is very likely that the list will be unresponsive. Thus the super cheap price, but if that same list had been $50 it means that the list will probably be a little more responsive. This isn't the case always, but it is a pretty good guide to follow when selecting your ezine. So test, test, test and track your results!

Now go out there and find the best ezine directory that meets your standards, be firm and know what you want before you pay. Although there are many different options to make a selection from, you should know exactly what you can and can't do or say . And by all means as I mentioned earlier avoid the cheap basement bargain ezine websites. They can't wait to take advantage of you and separate you from your wallet. Take heed to this old saying. The best way to run a business no matter how big or small ius to treat it like a fortune 500 corporation, you are the boss and your decisions mean the difference between a record sales and profits or bankruptcy.

Ezine advertising is a great way to reach targeted prospects and potenital clientsas they pay for and subscribe to these e-magazines to see what you have to offer. Ezines are a wonderful form of advertising and I myself use them quite often. To Learn more about ezines and other forms of advertising/lead generation visit http://JohnReynoldsOnline.com/blog.
